Finally got around to the Airfix QLD I picked up a while ago. Really nice kit, went together without a hitch.
It was basecoated with the PSC sprays. The colour's good, but I found coverage was a but iffy, requiring quite a few coats, and it didn't seem to like taking the GW washes very easily. Turned out alright in the end though :-)
You've done a fine job there Alan! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll be following your example with the QLT and using the HAT Tank Riders with it.
DeleteLooking good there Alan! I had a problem fitting the windows with my models, but, you managed to 'squeeze' them perfectly! :)
ReplyDeleteThey did need a bit of careful trimming first, and I nearly split the frame on my first attempt!
DeleteI like it!
ReplyDeleteNice finish Alan.
Thanks Paul
DeleteA really good job, Alan.
ReplyDeleteCheers Monty!
DeleteThis is really classy, man! I've not seen the Airfix QL series close up before but it's going on the Christmas/Birthday and/or Gimme-Dat-Ting list straight away. I drove one of these to a show for the Scottish Military Vehicle Club at Fort George some years back and, looking at your model, brings it all back to life. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteFort George must have been quite a location! It's a really nice little kit. The suspension and drive shafts are a little fiddly to get straight, but otherwise a nice straightforward build.
